Writers are simple creatures. We only need a few things to make us happy and keep us productive, right? The key to getting this year’s writing goals off toa great start is by having great products to help you along in the process. These are my five must-have products that I’m going to be utilizing daily throughout 2023.

Paperage Dotted Journal Notebook

Whether you are a person who loves to bullet journal, or you simply want some blank pages to get down your creative ideas, Paperage journals are well crafted, sturdy, and have thick pages to prevent bleeding through the pages with most types of pens. I know that many bullet journalers steer toward the Leuchtturm 1917, but at more than half the price, you can stock up on Paperage journals in every color of the rainbow.

Pilot G-2 Gel Pens

These are my go-to pens for everything from writing Post-It notes to filling in the schedule in my journal. These are easy to find, affordable, and come in all different colors so you can color-coordinate your notes.

Sakura Micron Pens

These pens are little fancier than the average pen, and work great for detail work if you are an artist, adding flourishes to your notebook, or simply want something that helps you better control each stroke of your pen. I got into these when I thought about adding drawing to my list of skills, but I find them perfect for drawing lines and breaks in my notebooks.

Self-Editing for Fiction Writers

If you are like me, you can get the ideas down on paper just fine, but when it comes to creating something that is spectacular, you need a little help in the editing department. This book is a great guide for those that want to tackle the first rounds of editing and revision on their own before they move onto the next step in the publishing process.

Writer Emergency Pack

Do you ever find yourself in the middle of a writing emergency? If you consider a block an emergency, then we’ve all had them. This fun little pack of cards can help you break out of your rut and get your brain generating new ideas.
