It’s the last week of this year’s movie marathon, and I have watched an eclectic bunch of movies. While some were meh, I also got the chance to watch a few movies that have been on my list for years. Check them out:

Fear in the Night (1972)

This is a Hammer horror film, so what I expected from it, I received. And what I received was a rather dull attempt at frightening an audience. It is a movie that does have some twists and turns revealed near the end, but it was as if too many loose ends were tied up a little too neatly.

Verdict: not scary

Butcher Baker Nightmare Maker (1981)

Oh man, this one is weird. It starts off with a simple car crash, leaving a young boy orphaned and in the care of his aunt. Fast forward to just weeks before his eighteenth birthday, and everything seems to be find, but you can tell his aunt is going to go nutty. And when she gets that first taste of murder, she wants more, and does it in the name of protected her precious boy.

This one has some great slasher tropes, and it can be fun to watch, but I wouldn’t necessarily get a fright out of it.

Verdict: not scary

Children of the Corn (1984)
